Introduction to Unified Architecture Framework
A competitive market in our days highly increases the importance of organization effectiveness. How to harmonize operational processes and existing applications? How to ensure data consistency? How to analyze resource utilization and responsibilities? How to fill the gap between the business, systems engineering, and manufacturing activities? Typically, the architecture effort today is separated from the Systems Engineering (SE). This leads to a lack of traceability from the systems requirements to the architecture resulting in interoperable systems.
Applying the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), using an MBSE approach moves the architecture modelling effort to one that is an integral part of SE, helping the systems integrator to develop interoperable systems, with traceability to requirements and across views, using one integrated architecture model that enables impact analysis, gap analysis, trade studies, simulations, and engineering analysis.
This training provides step by step introduction to UAF framework, showing how to leverage MBSE with architecture modeling in an integrated and disciplined approach. During the hands-on tutorial we will explain major UAF concepts and views, show how to trace model elements in different views, introduce UAF analysis techniques, and share the best practices for architecting complex systems and Systems of Systems. Cameo Enterprise Architecture tool will be provided for each attendee to accomplish hands-on exercises.
